Censorship

Today I have been fortunate enough to witness the impressive force with which a Website goes from prominence to squalor. Having barely visited digg in the past, I was forwarded there by Slashdot. Digg had started removing posts that included the HD-DVD hex unlock code, but in response the people were posting up new stories, pictures, comments, and links that included the key. Ultimately Digg took itself offline and decided to give in to the demands. They came back up shortly afterwards to say that they had relented, but quickly went offline again.
Digg is still currently offline at this moment, which makes it at least an hour they have been down for. Consequently, Slashdot has posted hundreds of copies of that key in numerous threads, showing little or no care about the possibility of being issued a cease and desist letter. It has made the infamous hex code an instant joke.
